Research Interests

Since 2001 I am working in the area of ubiquitous and pervasive computing systems. I am especially interested in system software and middleware support for pervasive application development and execution, energy efficiency and dynamic service discovery. My projects in this area are:

In addition, I am researching global peer-to-peer network systems, especially in combination with persistent state management and real time requirements. Application fields for such systems are e.g. distributed simulation systems or massively multiplayer online games. In this context, I am the coordinator of the  Peers@Play project:
